I would just like to say a huge thanks to North Star Pilates for hugely improving my day to day quality of life. I am a forty something and have been very active playing football, running, gym and tennis all of my adult life. Over the past 20 years whilst enjoying my sport I have had continued problems with my lower back resulting in many hours of both chiropractor and physiotherapist support. I had more or less resigned myself to being in pain ranging from mild to severe but always constant. That however was before I started working with Susanne Wharton from North Star Pilates in Wakefield over 3 months ago. I am now completely pain free and enjoying my other sports more than ever. Admittedly when I first set eyes on the equipment I had some trepidation, that linked to my ignorance of what Pilates was, I wasn't really expecting any significant results. However with the expertise and understanding of which muscles needed work and strengthening, and a complete overhaul of how I breath when I exercise, I now feel absolutely great. I can also confirm that Pilates is an excellent form of exercise on its own, at numerous sessions I am willing the clock to move quicker as this is a real full body workout. I am far more toned, stronger and flexible. At the start some of my muscles were literally locked, not anymore. Guys give this a go and you will see the results for yourself.
